Alma Temple, located in downtown Denver, is one of the most interesting churches in the neighborhood. It was built mostly by volunteers in the early 1900’s. I love the stained glass windows and find myself staring at it and meditating on Christ before and after services. Last Sunday I spoke at the evening service. I asked my husband to take pictures of those beautiful windows. I am currently working on a book that will showcase that lovely center window on the cover. Davis Memorial

Davis Memorial

Driving across this nation has been one of my favorite things to do. I love cross country driving and seeing all the fields and farms along the way. Slowing down for small towns takes me back to the old days when everyone didn’t travel on Interstate Highways. Last week, out in the middle of nowhere, I found a bit of a treasure with a sweet story attached. I had to stop at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, Kansas. From the road I couldn’t ignore an enormous monument in the middle of a very ordinary old burial ground. My curiosity got the best of me.

Steamboat Arabia

Steamboat Arabia

The Steamboat Arabia sank in 1856. In 1988 it was found under 45 feet of dirt in a Kansas farm field by five determined men. I had the opportunity to tour the Museum recently and actually met one of those men. This museum is one of those unexpected delights we seldom encounter. I highly recommend this tour if you’re in the Kansas City, Missouri area. If you ever wanted to know what an 1856 Wal-Mart would look like, you will see it here. If you would like to know more, click here.

On Our Own in Jerusalem’s Old City is a book I wrote about out travels and adventures in Jerusalem. When I find an interesting article like this one I enjoy passing it onto my readers. I actually wrote about these scrolls in my book.

In 1979 two silver mini scrolls (actually amulets in antiquity) were discovered at Ketef Hinnom, an archaeological site that now has been incorporated into the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. Click here to learn more.

Join two born-again Christians exploring the Old City of Jerusalem without a tour group. Experience the excitement of discovering the Hebraic roots of our faith. Visit archaeological sites and museums that strengthen our faith. Discover Jewish holidays and learn their significance to Jesus and to us. Read about thriving churches in the Old City. Mingle with citizens of the Old City. Learn how to shop the souk and communicate with vendors. Hear the call of ancient stones from the Holy Land. Worship with us as we meet with God in churches, synagogues, mosques, tombs, tunnels, ramparts, and the Western Wall. Learn more.

Happy reading!
